Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Errichetti.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My story is like most people, I got laid off after putting my heart and soul into my work. After a bit of reflecting, I realized it was better to just work for myself, even if it was a slow build, at least I would own whatever I created. Over time, I learned that many of the things I was doing those past bosses told me not to, “waste time on”, were the right things to do to build long-term success.
Having been a Philosophy Major provided me with a solid understanding of how people communicate and how to reverse engineer the algorithms of various social media platforms. This has been vital to properly storytelling in a way that people can relate.
In the end, it is a lesson in trusting in yourself and your own experiences, skill set, and knowledge.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If it was easy, everyone would do it. I like that it is hard because it forces you to constantly reassess your methodology. The truth is the hardest part is starting and staying disciplined. So many times people default to what has worked in the past and not what works today.
The best struggle I had was watching Facebook, over time, suppress content with their algorithm making growth and reach more difficult. Many peers simply gave up on Facebook, where I stayed true to content marketing and focused on testing content. Making better content, and communicating in a way what Facebook values and promotes engagement, helped me to learn best practices that I can implement for my clients.
The strangest struggle was realizing many people who I respected simply did not understand social media, or they were turning a blind eye to it because it was not their field. Traditional media is doubling down on what has been failing instead of diversifying and as it is impossible to change some peoples’ mindset, you have to let them be.
Please tell us about Taste of Massachusetts – Errichetti Media.
My actual business is Errichetti Media, which is a digital marketing company. We specialize in the major platforms and needs of our clients. Taste of Massachusetts is my brand, and I use it to test methodology for best practices for social media platforms.
We are known for (internally at least) being hired to replace other companies and then exceeding expectations.
What sets us apart is we are able to service clients needs better than most peers because I am actually a social media practitioner. This is not an insult to anyone, but how many companies have a principal owner actually posting and testing on platforms daily? How many digital marketing company owners have built, in a little over two years, a brand with 41,000 on Facebook, 31,000 on Instagram, 12,000 on LinkedIn and an email newsletter with roughly 41,000 subscribers?
These put us in start contrast to other companies who see digital marketing as an afterthought, or addition to traditional.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Visiting local attractions and restaurants with my family. It is why I started Taste of Massachusetts. I want to share these great places around New England with others.
Specifically, when I was 6 going to the park then getting ice cream with my father after he came home from work, so my mom could have a break from my brother and me.
