When I was in college playing football and studying at Sacred Heart University (1aa Division), I read shirted one year because of a year ending knee injury. From here I had extra time to work on the weekends to make some side money while at school, which I took a bar tending job at a bar called Black Bear in South Norwalk. It was in my best interest to bring people to where I was bar tending, from there I started renting buses to go back and forth from campus to the bar I was working at. I started with one buss, from one buss went to 2-3 buses and bringing 100’s of students to this bar a night generating the bar a staggering increase in sales. Here is where I realized the value of “promoting” and setting the trends for bars/restaurants and clubs. When I graduated I moved back to the Boston area and linked up with a local young promoter, Mike Baccari. He knew the scene, the right people to build relationships with, and the general mold of the industry here in Boston. we made a deal with our first bar soon after, and hired 5-6 local promoters who were young, energetic & likeminded as us. We have not looked back since. From then to now we have 4-5 events / week with some of the most elite venues in the city which has generated 100’s of thousands of dollars in increased sales since. additionally, we host 10+ New Year’s Eve events each year with small 100-200 bars to 850-person Hotel ball rooms. This year our event at the Boston Harbor hotel played Sports Illustrated with the entire Boston Celtics team in attendance.
What people do not realize is promotion companies are technically marketing companies specifically for restaurants/ nightlife. We examine to what their brand is, where they lack, and how we can improve to getting people in the building. There is various tactics that we use, and still learning each day as the times are rapidly changing.

My brothers and I have been in the restaurant business for 9 years with owning Toscanas Restaurant in Peabody. We are full blooded 1st generation Italians which food has been a huge emphasize in our lives. With, our father is diabetic and has been struggling with managing the disease, as millions of others also struggle with. With research and tutelage from nutritionist we learned that diet is a massive tool to manage and control diabetes. We decided to Meal prep all his meals, portioned, made with clean ingredients, and meals that he could eat without losing quality of the food. The results were incredible. His sugar levels were stable, he no longer needed to inject insulin daily, and his energy/ focus levels sky rocketed. At this moment I think we all realized that there is a huge value in Healthy Meal Prepping and can help millions of people in the country! We started using the Chefs from Toscanas to cook the food with having certified nutritionist write up healthy menus for clients. We have been now open for 8-9 months and manage around 100 clients. We now have a kiosk in the Burlington Mall, hiring 1 new sales person, and great partnerships in the pipeline! We believe that eating clean is a benefit for EVERYONE and Using Nutre is the easiest way of eating clean in 2018.

As you can imagine the nightlife industry is very sensitive & trendy. New Places opening every few months, fights, & other small issues that you cannot control can really be detrimental to the brand of a venue. Being consistent and confident in the process is the key to long term success.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
MVP Entertainment:
I think Boston is an amazing city for Nightlife. It is a smaller community comparably to NYC and Miami but a lose niche city. Also, it is the most highly populated college community in the country, we must entertain these students each semester.
The city can most definitely lose up on some of the restrictions given to bars in nightlife. Example being prolong the hours from 2:00 AM close to 3:00 AM close to compare to cities in NYC therefore we can generate more Nightlife tourism. Another example is happy hour laws are illegal in MA. In other states happy hour is a massive promotional tool to generate sales for restaurants & bars. Lastly, the hookah licenses are extremely limited and refuse to give more out. However, hookah restaurants are a massive international trend in which many people are dying to go to.

I think that Boston is an amazing place for healthy meal planning service. There is many offices and startups that are trying to instill a health/wellness culture to their employees. What better way than cater healthy food to the office, or having your employees signing up with a local healthy meal plan service.
There is also a massive emphasize on grocery store meats on how they are sources and prepared. With Nutre, we locally source all our produce and all our meats are hormone free meats & grass fed only beef. We focus on clean ingredients!
