Today we’d like to introduce you to Jen Potter.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all got started on a whim and a prayer, haha! I never knew I wanted to be a business owner and kind of fell into it. But boy, was this my calling and definitely meant to be! This is my true passion and calling and it is such a gratifying feeling having such an incredible business and incredibly supportive clients and friends! I have been in the Spa Industry for about 14 years and have always had my own visions and ideas. Now, I provide massage, Reiki, skin care, facials, waxing, brow and lash tinting and the next big thing… small group and private YOGA. Once the vision started coming to fruition, I imagined I would provide full circle wellness and this is how I envision it coming to life. I can’t wait to continue to grow and provide the best services and products for my loving clients. I am a truly lucky person to live out my every passion and have it be enthusiastically welcomed by my clients. I have eclectic fun things to purchase that always seem to make people happy, like salt lamps and heated foot domes, beautiful lip glosses, essential oils and candles, and the best skin care products. My belief is that if I am truly passionate and excited about whatever I provide, people will want to be part of that! So far, that’s proven to be true. I thoroughly enjoy connections with people and making them feel better in any capacity. I am honored to work with anyone who walks into my beautiful and loving spa. I believe each person walking through that door was meant to come in. If I can help one person smile easier that day or feel some type of relief, I have done my job. Thank you! I hope to see you someday too!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth road? The beginning process was touch and go, but once I embraced where I was and allowed the flow of things, everything seemed natural. I had a clear vision of what it should look like and how it should feel. All of the other stuff was details. At the end of the day, people want to feel a certain way when they go places. My spa has a unique and loving energy that flows and makes everyone feel a little more at peace. I definitely had to bounce around to two offices in just a few weeks span of time and it was very hard to rehab and move everything twice right after leaving my solid, stable job. It was nerve-racking, but a decision was made and “I knew” it had to work, so it did. Now, I just live out my passions and because of that, it seems to be fully supported. I guess my view of success may be different than that of a millionaire, but I believe I am successful because I make a solid living at something g I truly love, surrounded by clients I truly love. What is better than that?!
We’d love to hear more about Jen Potter Massage and Skin Care.
What I do is provide a beautiful setting for people to experience custom massages, facials, Reiki sessions, and coming soon as private and small group yoga. What I’m most proud of as a brand and what sets me apart is my ability to live out my passion for helping people and it is fully supported. I believe this is because people can feel I am truly happy to help and make them feel their best. I care so deeply about each person walking in and have and hold space for them before they’ve even entered and they can feel that. My space is pure and bright and loving and calming. People don’t want to leave! I love what I do!!! I also have been doing my job for so long that each experience is unique and customized, so you know you are getting the right session, whatever that is, for you THAT DAY!
So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
I feel there are many opportunities for women! We need to create them ourselves in some situations. Maybe we need to think outside the box a little. But, I am always eager to hear how others feel about it and see their perspective too.

I’ve been going to her for over eight years. She’s wonderful at what she does and always finds time to listen to what is on your mind…an extra bonus.
