Meet Rilla Force

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rilla Force.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I started making music through dancing. In high school we used to KRUMP at a local Boys and Girls club, the club used to have a small recording studio to teach kids how to make music. Naturally my friends and I decided that it would be a great idea to try and create the music used for KRUMPING. I liked trying to figure out what I was doing almost every day after school. I found that this was so fun and exciting even though we had no idea what we were up to.

Please tell us about your art.
I’m an Artist, Record Producer, and DJ. Often you can catch me in the studio writing new material, producing for vocalists, or spinning at a function/venue. “RNBDM” is how I categorize my sound. My music comes from my lack off exposure to music as a whole. My mom didn’t let me listen to much of the popular stuff growing up, overtime I fell in love with it. Playing catch up with it all is still a thrill. People always tell me I’m different, “you have this new sound” but to me it’s just what comes naturally. Doing this just feels right and I’m addicted to the process. My overall message would be just being yourself, love yourself, Live how you want and never be afraid to win! I hope after listening to my work people would understand that your uniqueness is beautiful and no one can take that away from you.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
