Meet Nicholas Romano of All Service Window Cleaning in Greater Boston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Romano.

Nicholas, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I got my start at the young age of 13 when my father died. My Noni (grandmother in Italian) helped my brother and I start a landscaping business so that we could take care of our family. Our landscaping business was very successful. We were very meticulous with our work. After nine years my brother and I sold the business. I loved the service business so much that I began my own window cleaning and property maintenance business three years ago. Since a young boy I always wanted to start a window cleaning business. I thought the overhead would be easier than landscaping. My Noni passed away but instilled her principles in me; to work hard and provide exceptional, honest service. She would be proud that I have carried on these principles to another service business. It has been quite a journey for me. It was a nerve racking period to build another business this time without my Noni but my wife has been such a stronghold for me and has given me such great advice and encouragement to always believe in myself.

Has it been a smooth road?
Owning and growing you own business is one of the biggest challenges in the service industry. The hardest is the sales. I have found getting the word out is key to my success. When I first started out I walked every town around the Greater Boston area. I literally handed out 10,000 business cards to storefronts offering to clean their windows. I remember one of my journeys early on I started from Mass Ave in Arlington to the CambridgeSide Galleria in Cambridge and back. Some of the struggles have been doing sales. You have to get people to believe in your service. I learned that with every no I received, it made me go out there even more. My Noni would say, “Every knock is a boost.” I think of her every time I do sales…

So, as you know, we’re impressed with All Service Window Cleaning – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I own All Service Window Cleaning, a window cleaning business that serves the greater Boston area. I specialize in residential and commercial window cleaning including store fronts, signage and awnings. The storefronts I service range from eye glass stores to dental offices, restaurants and supermarkets. I also do residential window repair and restoration, gutter cleaning and pressure washing. I am known for providing friendly service with a smile, while working meticulously to ensure all of my customers are extremely satisfied with my work, The team does not leave a residential job until I go over ever sill screen and window and makes sure the customer is 100% satisfied. The best part of the business is seeing my customers on a weekly basis where great friendships have been forged. I believe my outstanding service, honesty, integrity and reliability sets my company apart.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I grew up in the North shore so city life is a little different! When I met my wife, who is a city girl I moved down to Boston. It was a bit of a shock getting used to all the traffic. I think the hardest part about the city is that it can be chaotic at times with traffic, especially when driving to my next customer! You have to love the Boston sports teams! Even if you’re not a big fan, it’s hard not to be a fan when they win! We are fortunate to have such great teams. The rich history, culture and great restaurants also make Boston tops.
