Today we’d like to introduce you to Miranda Quinn.
Miranda, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started drawing when I was fifteen. Before that, I would always doodle in school but when I got to that age I found that it was something I really enjoyed doing and something that I was good at. When I got to be a senior in high school, I had really cultivated my style. I created a style that was very intricate and detailed. Since then, I have been growing as an artist and each design is becoming more detailed and complex.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. I was rejected from a lot of the art schools that I applied to but that gave me more motivation to improve my artwork and create art the nobody else was making. When I was in school, I was a graphic design major.
One of my biggest struggles there was being confined to the assignments and not having that much room to integrate my artwork. I had some great professors there but decide to leave so that I could have more time to really grow as an artist.
Another one of my struggles is getting my artwork out there. It is hard if you don’t have a big social media following. Hopefully, I’ll be able to gain a larger following.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Miranda Quinn Art – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in very intricate, detailed, and sometimes geometric drawings. In my work, I explore the contrast between different shapes and textures inside a bigger shape.
I’m most proud of the time and effort I put into each design. Each drawing usually takes about a month to make. I use a fine point pen and rarely sketch out the design first, which gives it a very clean appearance.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
One of my biggest plans for the future is to get a tee shirt line started with my artwork on the shirts. I have some printed right now and have just started trying to sell them.
I also want to get some prints of my artwork made and sell them as well. Getting my artwork displayed in some galleries is also something I plan to do.
