Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Burgess.
Michael, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started this company in 1986 as a continuation of a father and son business, and I am proud to say I come from the “old school of business”; meaning customer satisfaction is my #1 priority. In a technologically advanced society like today’s, it is a pleasure to be able to perform basic wood skills like mitering moldings, or fabricating cabinetry, with your own personal touches.
Has it been a smooth road?
My father told me that “I am not in business to make money, but to provide a service and to do it so well that it can’t help but to be profitable.” Those words made the struggles far less as my focus was on quality and not profits. The biggest struggle is in competing with illegal contractors and contractors that do not provide the requirements mandated by our state.

We are proficient at all phases of construction, from the ground up, and have been using the same subcontractors for many years. This allows us to manage both large, and small projects with minimal disturbances, or problems that are typical with construction.

Usually we can analyze your project, and help you to find the necessary cost cutting so as to still complete your project. Since the inception of a nationwide code what city or town you work in is irrelevant, the only factor involved would be weather. Yes, working outside in the snow is not pleasurable.
