Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla McLaughlin, Lauren Auciello and Lindsey Vieira.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kayla, Lauren and Lindsey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We purchased an existing studio and we have just entered our fourth year as owners/directors. We grew up dancing together from a young age at the Donna Miceli Dance Center and have been best friends ever since. It has been a fun and rewarding experience running a business together, while also doing something that we all love. We have grown the studio to 200 dancers, and have recently added an additional space. We hope to continue to grow and share our love for dance throughout the area.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We have experienced a few bumps here and there, but it is nice to be able to share responsibilities and lean on each other.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Studio Rhythm Dance Center – what should we know?
Our studio teaches children from the ages of 2-18. We offer classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical and more! We have 8 different competition teams who compete and perform all over the area. We are most proud of the compliments we receive from new students about the welcoming and positive atmosphere at our studio. Our dancers are kind, talented and hardworking and we couldn’t be more proud of them. It is comforting to know that such young children are able to spread our family atmosphere throughout the studio and that they have taken on our mission to be inclusive and welcoming to all!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
There are two characteristics we feel have contributed the most to our success. First, flexibility. Not in our leaps, or leg kicks, but more so with our scheduling and interactions. At first, it was hard for us to realize that everything won’t always go as planned, but we have really worked on how to handle different situations and personalities in the moment.
You can plan every detail for months, but on the actual day of there can be several scenarios that pop up that change everything. We have got really good at on the fly, last minute decision making for that reason. Secondly, we feel that working together as a team has really made us a strong business. We are able to bounce ideas, issues, and compliments off each other. In an industry that is constantly evolving, working closely with peers is extremely helpful. We pride ourselves on staying current and creative, and our teamwork has been instrumental in doing so.

As a mom whose daughter has danced at this studio since day one, I cannot recommend Studio Rhythm enough! These ladies and their staff are amazing teachers and mentors to their students, their choreography is tremendous with no two dances the same. I love how the kids support each other and the older kids look out for the younger ones. If you’re from the Westford area and are looking for a studio for your child, I highly recommend you check out Studio Rhythm.

I am in love with this studio- it never feels competitive and girls of all levels are encouraged to do their personal best and to have fun. These women work hard to showcase each girl’s individual talent and to foster the love of dance, and each of my girls have grown in this inclusive, supportive and welcoming environment. I feel so lucky to have becomes part of this amazing place!
