Today we’d like to introduce you to Hanneke Antonelli.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born, raised and schooled in South Africa and after finishing my business degree at the University of Stellenbosch, I moved to London, UK in search of my big finance career. After a few entry-level finance positions, I landed a job as a money broker and later transferred to the NYC office where I brokered most of the currencies in the world. Shortly after arriving in the US I realized that my passions lied elsewhere, I was burnt out from the fast-paced and high-stress lifestyle of Wall Street and started exploring other opportunities. Having been a ballet dancer growing up, I was naturally drawn to Pilates. I loved knowing that I could help people move better.
During my Wall Street days, my exercise routine was a wonderful escape, and it was great to know that my Pilates session could potentially be the thing that made someone else’s day too. I quit Wall Street in 2009, became a Pilates instructor, moved up to Boston and married the love of my life, and the man who had shown me what it truly meant to do what inspires you. (I had met this Bostonian Romeo on a beach in Portugal in 2007, while still living in London.) In 2013 my Pilates with Hanneke brand was awarded a BostInno 50 on Fire award for one of Boston’s top 50 most innovative companies.
At this point, my hunger to impact and help people create the massive change they desired had grown significantly. Having experienced the radical transformation from working with my own coach, I decided to get certified. And it’s just been one amazing experience since then. My coaching services are specifically geared towards helping business owners, executives and employees gain clarity and direction so they can get unstuck, overcome overwhelm, have better work and personal relationships, and take inspired action to expedite growth in their business. In 2015 Boston Magazine awarded me as their Best of Boston® Life Coach.
oh and Hanneke is a Dutch name pronounced Hah-nuh-kah 🙂
Has it been a smooth road?
Naturally, yes 🙂 But for the most part, I’ve been very blessed with my business ventures. When you have your own business there will always be setbacks, some programs or events you run will fail miserably but what’s helped me is to look at it all as an opportunity to learn from the experience and then get right back at it.

I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve been able to build two successful businesses as an immigrant (operating in my second language) in the U.S, living the American dream. I’m so lucky to have had the opportunities and means to make this happen. I’m also proud of and grateful for both my BostInno 50 on Fire and Best of Boston® awards. Finally, I’m super excited about my newest employee performance program where I coach companies beyond the C-suite. My coaching program is geared to improve employee engagement and retention by cultivating better leadership and communication skills. Streamlining better talent and building more efficient and productive team. This helps the company save time and money while increasing the organization’s bottom line. By hiring me, companies can design and implement a sustainable and thriving environment for their employees. This is a project that’s close to my heart as it is something that would have significantly helped my own performance and leadership ability when I was on Wall Street.
