Today we’d like to introduce you to David Valdez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us David. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started doing local clinics in several small community towns to spread my name and soon to be company around. I wanted to start to make a name for myself. I then found a permanent home in Medford, MA where I opened Valdez Baseball Academy. I wanted to make a positive impact on these young kid’s lives and give them a place to practice their childhood passion, baseball. Since opening in 2004, we have had several hundred kids come in and out of the academy on a weekly basis and continue to impact kid’s lives up to this very day.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It is a very up and down business, but our main focus is to keep the kids and parents that come in, happy and always looking forward to come back. We always strive to develop young kids and advance their baseball skills.

Valdez Academy specializes in helping kids and adults of all ages advance their baseball skills. We are known for our eccentric atmosphere, we like to keep it lighthearted and allow the kids to have fun but at the same time work hard. We are most proud about the countless smiles we have put on children and parents faces throughout the years. What sets us apart from the others is our instructors have been around baseball for their whole lives, many of them being born and raised in the Dominican Republic.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are trying to establish and build many more sports academies in several other towns so it easier for people to travel to spots more local.
