Meet Dan Tognacci of Fine Line Artistry in Metrowest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dan Tognacci.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Dan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been working in the makeup industry for ten years. I began my career actually doing hair three years prior. I got into makeup after falling in love with the artistry. My goal was to travel, work on photoshoots, backstage with designers and be able to make everyone see their true beauty and make them feel good about themselves. I started my career as a part-time artist for MAC Cosmetics in the Natick Collection. This opened so many doors for me to expand my artistry and knowledge. I have worked over seven years of New York Fashion Week on shows such as Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, Badgley Mischka, Tory Burch, The Blonds and Kenneth Cole.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Breaking into this industry has its challenges just like any field would be. I am a self-taught artist and I being someone who does not wear any makeup. I felt it to be a challenge at first but it only motivated me to be the best artist I could be. Even to this day, I am always learning and continuing to grow.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Fine Line Artistry – what should we know?
Fine Line Artistry was created to give you a glimpse into my artistry, background and what I offer. I am a very versatile artist. I offer everything from runway, editorial, weddings, prom, lessons, hands-on and television. I am most known for my attention to flawless luxurious glowing skin. What sets me apart from others is my way to adjust and adapt to any client. Paying specific attention to their wants and needs. Discussing the desired outcome of the look they want to achieve. Kind of like a makeup architect. You come to me with a vision and I bring it to life.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
There have been so many people I have met over the years! The list of supporters is always growing. I am always inspired by other artists and people in the industry!
