Meet Ana Villa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Villa.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was born in Bogotá, Colombia. My family is very musical; my love for music came from my father who is a beautiful singer and composer, and my mother who is very passionate about art! I studied musical theater for seven years before getting accepted to Berklee College of Music in 2012. I graduated from performance in 2016 and had the opportunity to perform with some great artists such as Juan Luis Guerra, Joyce Moreno, and Noel Schajris. I’m currently going to Japan to sing in a TV show and also trying to get money to finish a second degree at Berklee as a music therapist.

Please tell us about your art.
Singing for me is the purest expression of myself! Music is a gift we all can share and connect through. My aim is to travel the world as a music therapist and performer, as music has the big power to heal, empower and create community.

We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
Go support other artists by going to their gigs and following and supporting their social media!

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I perform around Boston and always post updates of my gigs and adventures in my Instagram (anamaravilla). I also have a YouTube channel where I post videos and projects!
