Ana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a local mom based in Boston (and Barcelona) who took her passion for photography and started her own business in 2014. Lovely Pictures Studio was born as a hobby and thank family and friends who spread the word, more people got to know me and vice versa. I could start my own photography brand and have been loving it since then. I will ALWAYS thank all of you!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Mostly it has been smooth. I started three years ago and little by little I have been building a regular clientele who help me out a lot. I started in a new country, culture, and language. I could see a challenge and at the same time an opportunity to make my dreams come true. Every and each person that rely on my job gives me a chance to get better and continue my professional career. On the other side, as every freelancer knows, marketing yourself is not easy. You spend a lot of hours and work that is barely recognized if customers don’t find or hire you. I am a hard worker so I will keep fighting to be in the race.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lovely Pictures Studio – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I love capturing spontaneous, natural, and candid moments as they are REAL LIFE. I will deliver memories that will bring you back to that particular occasion and to that particular feeling. Thrilling photographs that speak for themselves 😉 Real memories will become timeless moments.
My customers always tell me I was born as a natural photographer. They are very pleased how my personality makes them feel so comfortable and lets them enjoy the session. Happiness is my main mantra; capturing the fun and joyful occasions make my life happier.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am very proud and thankful for the trajectory my career is taking me. I would have never dreamed of anything better and more gratifying. Hopefully, my future will look as good as now. I could ask for better (and of course I wish it was bigger than now), but at the same time I am happy the way I am right now and if it could last forever, I would be very pleased.
My long-term goal would be to own a studio and offer cute indoors sessions (not black and white background which I think it is kind of boring…). I love all those little photo sessions for Christmas, Easter, or Halloween where the kids sit around and get impressed with the details, and have fun. A studio is a big change and it will have to wait a little longer 😉
