Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Silva.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Amanda. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Cast Iron Content was founded in March 2017 and began as a two-woman endeavor – a partnership. By the fall of 2017, I took the helm solo and have been the Principal and Creative Director ever since. However, in an interesting turn of events, the result was the creation of a team that continues to grow.
Basing my business model on collaboration has been vital to this company’s success. While I don’t have employees, my network is represented by professionals in their unique fields who routinely lend their names and expertise to the Cast Iron Content brand. Thanks to their efforts, I’m now able to offer a host of services that represent a real expansion of the company’s initial scope.
What I especially value about my business – a firm dedicated to storytelling – and the team tasked with telling those stories are, in fact, the stories about how we all began working together in the first place. What I love most about those stories is that they resulted from the pursuit of other passions. The Cast Iron Content collaboration goes like this…
I first met Jennifer London while studying creative writing at Vermont College of Fine Arts, where we both, ultimately, graduated with our MFAs in creative writing. Although many people network with fellow alums after graduating, I consider myself fortunate and grateful for this continued connection to Jenna’s talent.
As a commercial actress, I often spend quality time waiting, whether at Boston Casting, Melissa Paradice Casting, Slate – any casting agency. This waiting game affords real opportunity to meet other actors with different full- or part-time gigs. That’s how I met Brian Agosta, a man of many talents, and the first person I reached out to when I knew it was time to rebrand the business.
On another serendipitous audition, Eddie Frateschi opened the door, took my headshot and resume, and reassumed his position behind the camera. It wasn’t long before we joined forces and put his talent as a videographer into action, creating compelling videos for my clients. To cite our first on-screen interviewee, “the rest is history.”
After putting out an all-call for guest bloggers on behalf of one of my accounts, I met Kristin Hardwick for coffee and quickly discovered that she was another key to my rebranding success, a brilliant PR strategist who could deliver the exposure I needed to pick up momentum.
A quick-witted writer and marketer extraordinaire, Alison Hall put the development of her own firm on hold when she took a pause to become a mom, leaving me grateful for her on-call expertise… and for my niece.
As our clients’ social media needs scaled, I knew we had to as well. Enter Teddy Myers, a Facebook advertising specialist, and improv comedian who has shared the stage with Brian. The Cast Iron Content story just keeps coming full circle after starting out on stages elsewhere.
So, when I say that my company is driven by genuine connections and collaborations, I need only point to my team to prove it.
Has it been a smooth road?
The struggle came from rebranding the business so soon after it launched, but even that proved a positive experience and certainly one that continues to yield exciting results.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Cast Iron Content is a digital marketing agency, offering the following services: copywriting, editing, videography, graphic design, website design, branding and PR strategies, social media, and social media advertising.
Our strength as a company is represented by collaboration, connection, and communication. We are enthusiastic about targeting our efforts in-house to serve our clients according to a combined strategic approach. We are confident in our ability to leverage our network in order to connect our clients with the right services and resources.
Of course, effective and honest communication is key to our own ambitions and optimal client support.
Ultimately, the creation of this team was borne out of necessity and it continues to evolve based on new needs and client demands, which is why I’m confident in our ability to exceed our clients’ expectations. At the end of the day, the Cast Iron Content team is a group of professional performers – whether creative writers, actors, comedians – and we all know the importance of presentation. That, I believe, is what sets us apart from other marketing firms.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
The Cast Iron Content headquarters are actually located in Manchester, NH, which affords an easy commute into Boston and the surrounding areas. Given the growth that Boston continues to experience, regarding businesses of all sizes, it’s been a great location for professional pursuits and new opportunities. Granted, given the nature of our work, location isn’t nearly as important as a solid, reliable connection to the internet.
