Meet Amanda Cronauer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Cronauer.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I have always been wanting to hold onto memories and preserve them. At a very young age I was diagnosed with spinal meningitis which left me without hearing in my left ear- I think it makes me look at life differently, fragile. We have to hold onto every moment that we have because in an instant it can be lost. During high school I used to work at a photo lab where I loved looking at all the memories people were taking and thinking how when you look back on a photo you can conjoin up all these feelings and emotions. After having my three children I realized that life passes so quickly and keeping these memories fresh are so important. I started taking my own photos and wanting to perfect the outcome of what is seen. That’s where it all started that this is what I love doing and wanted to learn more. I keep learning more and more every day I take photos. My style is to capture these moments are joyful in every way. You only get the one joyful moment to awaken you to the realization that beauty is happening now.

Please tell us about your art.
I want to create art that tells a story. To me it’s more about creating a deeper relationship with my clients so they will want to keep coming back to tell me more. My art has become a family to me that I want to keep knowing more about. Every person I meet has a different reason for why they want to preserve their memories and I want to make sure I accomplish that for them. Whether it’s details of their new baby or moments of their family- I want to create lasting memories that they can look back on and love for years and years. So many things pass up by so quickly but we just have to pause a moment and realize what is important. I love spending time on each and every photo to make sure it is perfect because I know these photos will be around for years- it is art to me and my art speaks about me so I care deeply about the final product. I am constantly striving to perfect my art and. learn new tools that will help me in the future.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
As an artist success is making sure your clients are completely satisfied with their final product. I feel it is essential as an artist to keep striving to create what you feel in your heart represents you and your style. Art is emotional and getting deep down into your soul and what makes you happy is an important part of what you’re creating. Art to me is creating the beauty to share with the world.
