Check out Jittery Jack’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jittery Jack.

Jittery Jack is the alter ego for Kevin Patey, former frontman for the Boston band the Raging Teens. For over 25 years, with his musical partner Miss Amy Griffin on electric lead guitar, they’ve been creating roots rock ‘n’ roll, rockabilly and traditional country music. Traveling all over the globe from Europe to Australia bringing their rocking’ sound with an East Coast Bang!

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Inspired by 50’s rock and roll, rockabilly and traditional country I try to create new music that pays homage to the sound and excitement of my musical heroes. If you like music it’s hard not to like what I do, it’s like the raw electric spark of rock ‘n’ roll music.

The stereotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
If you want to be a musician, you’ve got to be willing to sacrifice everything to do it full time. Nice homes, cars, relationships all have to play second fiddle to the music. If not, hope you have a day job that lets you take lots of time off!

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your work?
Come, see a show! Whilst we don’t play locally all that often there’s usually four or five local shows a year. We’ll be headed out last October for a two-week tour with our friends Hillbilly Casino from Nashville, the West Coast in February and the annual Viva Las Vegas Festival in April. Summer 2019, we’ll be in Europe. Currently working on our latest full length which will be coming out on 12″ album on Swelltune Records. In the meantime, our music is available for download on iTunes and most of the online sites.
