Today we’d like to introduce you to Janelle Driscoll and JoJo Gutfarb Wetterau.
JJ Media, a modern day PR and Marketing company, was founded in May 2018 by Janelle and JoJo. The co-founders had known each other over the course of seven years, through their work on behalf of clients and publications. Both had considered making a change in their career but weren’t positive what the next move would be. Over drinks one evening, we were discussing each other’s next steps and realized that we could bring a fresh approach in our respective industry by collaborating. After that evening, we started to put together a business plan and with the help of friends, family and our extensive network were able to launch JJ Media in just a few short months.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Our goal is bring to a fresh approach to the industry, as our founders are coming from opposite sides of the table; Janelle coming from the media side and JoJo with a background in PR.
We specialize in public relations and marketing services for a variety of clients in the lifestyle, hospitality, non-profit and startup space. We take our clients stories and in a creative way aim to generate newsworthy coverage for the viewers and businesses themselves. In regards to marketing, we aim to help our clients share their brand’s story through advertising consulting, social media support, and strategic events to reach the right partners and audience.
Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
In our industry there are many opportunities to network, so we suggest getting out there and doing just that. It’s so important to build out your rolodex early, as those connections can help further your career! One of the most important things to remember is that you are always promoting your own brand, so make sure what you put out there via social media and networking is a true, and best representation of yourself.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
They can see our success, and our clients’ success, through various media outlets. We strive to partner with brands we are passionate about and we share news about our client roster on all of our social media pages.
