Today we’d like to introduce you to Allston’s Whole Heart Provisions.
Every restaurant has its own history, backstory, etc. We’d love to hear yours.
Whole Heart Provisions was started by chef Rebecca Arnold and James DiSabatino, founder of Roxy’s Grilled Cheese. We started Whole Heart because we wanted to change people’s perception of veggies. We take vegetables and make them into the most delicious forms that we possibly can! We use cooking techniques found in some of the country’s best restaurants and combine them with unique flavors and spices found around the world to build the most delicious bowls possible!
Tell us about the challenges of running a food service / restaurant business.
Rebecca’s background as a professional chef and James’ background as a restaurant and food truck founder really paved the way to make Whole Heart what it is today.
What separates Whole Heart Provisions from the other similar spots?
The flavors really make us unique. We use interesting ingredients which are not normally found in fast casual restaurants such as our Creamy Harissa Vinaigrette, Szechuan Dukkah spice mix, Sesame Shishitos, Korean Gochujang. Our food is fun and adventurous and full of bold flavors, not your typical fast casual meal!
Some of our favorite items on our menu are our street food snacks. We offer a seared avocado with tahini, Za’atar (a mediterranean herb and spice blend) and crispy lentils. Our favorite menu item of all is our Falafel Dog. It contains housemade falafel, tahini, dijon, hots, tomatoes and Grillo’s pickles (the best pickles on earth!)
