Today we’d like to introduce you to Zack Pietrantonio.
Zack, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Clean Sweeper all started as an idea. I was working as a custodian/janitor and one day I decided that I am really good at what I do, and I always have dreamed to be my own boss and own my own company. That is basically how it was started. I did a lot of research, took classes and seminars, and built my brand from the ground up.
I got to where I am today with a lot of determination, accepting failure, and building off of that failure and turning it into positive thinking. Of course, family, friends, and many other people have helped me with building a business. The support from my wife especially has made this process extremely easy.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think like anything in life, there are always bumps in the road. If there aren’t any obstacles when doing something, it’s too easy, and probably not successful. It doesn’t matter how long you train, how good you are at what you do, or anything else that can stop obstacles, it is how you respond to those challenges that show how you are as a person, and business owner.
I think the basic struggles for any new business are similar. Am I making enough money to support myself and family? How do I separate myself from the competition? Where do I find employees? how do I learn to trust future employees? Is my business plan sustainable for years, and is this a lasting business in the future? All the things that worry any type of business owner
Besides that, everyday struggles include:
Unhappy customers
Losing customer/economy in general
Keeping up with and motivating employees
And a big one, How do I keep growing?
Balancing business with pleasure
So, as you know, we’re impressed with clean sweeper cleaning services – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Clean Sweeper’s main focus is to make sure our clients understand what we do, how we do it, and make sure it is like we are cleaning our own home or business. I think open communication, being up front, and truly making a bond with the client is huge. Our clients trust us in their homes and businesses so we like to make sure all clients meet their cleaner and understand when they will be cleaning and what. We want to take the stress out of cleaning so you can enjoy your life, and also be healthy while doing it!
Clean Sweeper is a residential and commercial general cleaning company.
We do basically any type of cleaning:
Move in/out
Post Construction
Pre/post party clean up (birthday, graduation, anniversary)
We clean windows (inside and out)
We handle, multiple days a week account, weekly, bi weekly, monthly, or can customize a plan that fits our clients.
The only type of cleanings we do not do include, rug cleaning (wash/scrub) and we do not handle any type of stripping or waxing of floors.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
No big changes in the near future. My business plan is to grow slow. I know, “as a business owner, who would want to grow their business slowly?” But my clients are the biggest part of this business, and I want to build relationships and make sure every cleaning is up to par. I would rather have 20 clients who love what we do, compared to having 50 clients, over working my employees which turns into a decline in cleaning and unhappy customers. I have learned businesses that over work or stretch themselves out to the max, always seem to have trouble with customers, always dealing with issues, and losing clients.
Plans for the future also include myself working 100% ON my business instead of IN my business. Currently I do about 50% of the cleanings, we are transitioning to growing our staff, including a new manager, and a few more employees.
