Meet Zachary Rioux of South Coast Entertainment in Westport

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zachary Rioux.

Zachary, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As an entrepreneur, I began DJing at the young age of 13 when I started to play music for friends & family with nothing but an mp3 player. (In fact, when I first started DJing, a close family friend told me that I will be “a true entrepreneur” and, although at the time I didn’t know what that word truly meant, I now look back and realize that her vision of me was spot on.) I later landed my first official gig at White’s of Westport using dual CD players. Since 2005, South Coast Entertainment has been providing professional service at events across South Coast Massachusetts and nearby Rhode Island.

As my passion for DJing grew, so did my investment– in both time and resources. Today, South Coast Entertainment not only provides Photo Booth services, but we also have premium, professional equipment, including Serato DJ software, Yamaha speakers, American DJ lighting and more.

Throughout my life, I always dreamed of opening multiple businesses from which I could achieve financial freedom. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth with a degree in Finance, I started working in Westport as a Financial Advisor. Now, when I am away from DJing and the Photo Booth, you’ll likely find me meeting with clients and suggesting strategic tools that fit their financial goals. In between of all that–and with the little spare time that I do have–I am researching and gathering ideas of how to improve my businesses and better serve my clients.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Overall, my journey has been quite smooth, and I am thankful for the continuous support of my family and friends for that. The most difficult task is time management. While I was in college, I was working 40 hours in a restaurant, taking 5-7 classes at a time, and running an entertainment business. There was very little time to allocate to family, which is a huge sacrifice when it comes to building businesses. But over the years, I have realized how important it is to strike a balance between business and family/friend because time missed with close ones can rarely, if ever, be replaced.

Whether as the owner of South Coast Entertainment or as a Financial Advisor, I am committed to excellence, both in providing service and ensuring my clients’ complete satisfaction.

As a Financial Advisor, I am eager not only to meet my clients’ financial objectives, but also to build and maintain a professional, personable relationship with them. Mindful that each client’s financial goals are different, I strive to achieve client satisfaction by working closely with my clients, understanding their situation, and providing services that are tailored to their specific wishes. My work as a Financial Advisor includes retirement planning, insurance planning, wealth management, and budgeting–to name a few.

Similarly, our main goal at South Coast Entertainment is to create an entertaining and memorable experience for our clients and their guests. In fact, we believe that no other entertainment company does it the way we do– we place the client at the forefront and ensure that their wishes are carried out in our services. At South Coast Entertainment, we provide DJ and/or Photo Booth services for any event.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans are anything but ordinary. I plan to continuously expand South Coast Entertainment, while also growing my financial planning business. In the future, I would also like to start investing in real estate, in hopes to someday start a rental property and property management company here in south coast Massachusetts.
