Trong, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When I was 16 my father came home and was told that his kidney wasn’t working. And he need a kidney transplant. He was going through dialysis 3 time a week.
Growing up family of 7 we was poor. Had welfare to help us. My mom would work night and day just to make ends meet. With my father couldn’t work cause of his condition. I had no choice but to drop out of school and start doing construction for my uncle. Whatever I made it would go directly to my mom to help her out with the bills. Eventfully I got good at what I was doing. I decided to open my own company when I was 19 with the help of my father guiding me. With the new business we wasn’t getting calls or jobs. Business was slow. I wanted to give up countless time. But I stick it out kept grinding. October 21, 2010 when my father pass. I had no choice but to be the man of the house. I did whatever it took to make sure they would never struggle like I did. Now 2017 business has been good. Long story short I think everything happens for a reason. I wouldn’t be where I am without him. (Lam Minh Huynh)
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being so young going to job estimate. People didn’t take you serious. They would look at me like I didn’t know what I was doing.
