Today we’d like to introduce you to Trina Holland.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I arrived in Boston 2001, not knowing the dream that awaited me was about to begin. I started working in a Dermatology office in Watertown which opened my eyes to the skincare world. I knew then that I wanted a career in the spa industry. I received my license in 2004 and with full speed ahead I knew I would own my own business. In my mind I envisioned a spa haven to each individual. I knew that every client walking in my door would have different skin problems and it had to cater to each one. My expectations are high, so I trained all my staff to work very closely to clients requests, Now, each client comes in and they are treated with high quality services as well as being able to unwind at our high end spa. Each day I brain storm on how I can make my business better to serve my clients.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Honestly, each day can have some bumps in the road but being positive and making sure clients are happy gets you through the struggles. Trying to keep up to date with the new skin products and treatments can be the most difficult.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
What sets us aside from all other spas is that we enjoy spending time with our clients. Getting to know them on a personal level makes it easier to treat them. Keeping the clients happy with updating treatments, so they don’t have the same facial each time they come in. Keeping the spa relaxing so clients can unwind in our lounge area while sipping on tea and enjoying our complimentary foot soak. We love to wax! We are all like little ninja’s. We keep it fast, painless and chat to clients. Before they know it they are walking out the door feeling smooth and hairless.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I took charge of the house, I grew up in Ireland with 3 older brothers. Not having any sisters to play make-up with probably encouraged me to be more girly. I would sit in my room and play with my dolls and my Mom’s make-up.
I always had the desire to work from a young age, when I was 13 I begged my parents to allow me to get a job. I knew the sky was the limit.
