Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatiana Khweiss.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Tatiana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up being creative and drawing and painting throughout childhood and all of school. I’ve always played with people’s hair – I loved it! I never thought I would make it a career until my mom told me to try out cosmetology school when I was too late to join hockey tryouts due to a family emergency. So, I tried it and dropped out over and over until I began to like the freedom of creating your own craft. I educated myself by taking classes any chance I could and still do. It is key! I also love to educate and help others thrive who want to learn and expand.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely wasn’t smooth. You have to put in work physically and mentally to be seen and get noticed. Keeping a steady flow of client retention and social skills is a must. Being creative and offering new perspective and ideas draws attention. Education and knowledge go a long way. Staying confident allows clients to build a trusting relationship.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about your business – what should we know?
I don’t like to stick to one look. I like to be creative and innovative. Short styles – long – a variety of colored canvases- different designs – upstyling. I love to be able to overcome any challenges because every creation is thought out and beautiful!
So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
Women are well positioned for anything. We supersede dominance.
