Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Torday.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started blogging about 5 years ago. I have Crohn’s disease and was just recover from surgery. I needed something to keep me busy. I had been reading some blogs and really liked them. I also really liked fashion and being preppy. I deduced to start writing a fashion and lifestyle blog with a preppy twist and working on an Instagram. At first, I was just writing it for me. It was called Anhors and Bows 14. One day, I was helping out with a training session for Team Challenge (a half marathon running/fundraising pro organ for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America). A friend asked what I had been up to so I said blogging. She asked to read it. She really liked reading it and said I should put it out there for others to read. I did and this started my fun crazy trip into blogging. About 3 years ago, I started working towards making blogging a full-time job. Half way through this jearney I decided to rebrand from Ahcors and Bows 14 to Bayberry and Main. I decided I wanted a name that was more meaningful. Bayberry and Main are named after the street my great Anton’s house is on and the name of her house. She was super special to me and this was just a right fit. Fast forward a year and today, I have gotten my Instagram to 13.2k. I have done some amazing collaborations and I am just having fun doing what I love.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. There have definitely been times I have wanted to give up. I think we all go through times like this. We all have moments of self-doubt. However, we all need to know we are amazing and we never need to give up there are always bumps in the road. My advice is if you work hard and live what you do anything can happen.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Bayberry and Main – what should we know?
I am a blogger and Instagrammer my social media has a northern preppy twist. I am known for having a preppy vibe that is colorful, fun and real. I am most proud of connecting with my followers and staying true to me throughout my growth. I also run a social media company where I run other peoples social media for them. I enjoy getting to do both because I get to do what I love.
Which women have inspired you in your life?
My mom because she had always been a strong confident woman who was always there for me. Be it when I was sick as a child or the day I graduated from college.
