Today we’d like to introduce you to Lilly Roy.
Lilly, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After getting my PhD in Pharmaceutics, I came to Boston for my first job. After graduate school, I put on a lot of body fat. I felt gross, and so I set out to get healthier.
I’ve made so much progress since then by working with different trainers in person and online.
I’ve always felt called to share my journey. Learning about health and fitness has been an obsession. My father passed away from a heart attack at 41, so I’ve always been interested in keeping fit. It took a while for me to figure out what ACTUALLY works. And I made some serious mistakes along the way — including fracturing my fibula. I see so many women struggling with this and I knew it was time to help. I started my coaching biz this year and I absolutely love it!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting my biz was hard. It felt impossible in the beginning. My starting beliefs were that his was a saturated market and I wouldn’t be able to break through. I ended up working with a biz coach that changed everything.
She helped me believe it was possible. I had to show up every day and share my message, get into conversations with potential clients. I couldn’t sell my services if I didn’t believe in them.
So, most of the work we did was inner work. My advice to women just stating their journey is to put time and effort into changing your beliefs. You HAVE to believe in yourself MORE than anyone else and be unwavering.
Likely, the people in your life will doubt you. You need to find a community and network that will inspire and support you!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Lilly Roy Fitness – what should we know?
My work is so rewarding!! I work with women 1:1 and now I’m starting to launch group programs online.
I specialize in troubleshooting fatless. My methods are simple and don’t involve any crazy teas or waist trainers. I teach my clients how to get their metabolisms fired up. I teach them balance.
I don’t do meal plans. My ladies learn how to track calls and macros and what exercises are most productive for their goals.
So far, my clients have been losing more fat working with me for 6 weeks than anything they have tried alone.
I am proud to have them make such progress while doing this in a sustainable way. I am teaching them to EAT, to be less obsessive with the scale. To be confident in the gym and know what to do! My one client lost inches even when her mom was in town. And she was able to eat her mom’s food and just modify her meals slightly to stay on track. I am teaching them a flexible approach!
Which women have inspired you in your life?
So many! I am inspired by the women in my family. My mom was a single mom and had to work really hard to make ends meet. She always found a way to pay for my dance lessons and supported me in everything I do. I am also inspired by my biz coaches Christie Bailey and Katrina Ruth. They have shown me that I can seriously do anything if I just believe in myself and take action daily.
