Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Luu.
Jenny, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always had an interest in the beauty industry at a young age but never had the courage to pursue it. I wanted to do something creative but wasn’t sure exactly what. I felt like I had to follow the typical path in life after college and work in the corporate world.
Fast forward a few years, I became a licensed Esthetician and Makeup Artist in 2006 (while still working in corporate) and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Even though it took me years to get here, I couldn’t believe I was finally doing something that I truly enjoyed. It all came so natural to me. I networked like crazy with photographers and models to build a portfolio and practiced on as many friends I could. I fell in love doing weddings when I did my first job doing bridesmaid’s makeup. I was so drawn to the wedding industry. When I landed my own wedding job, it was really nerve racking. I took longer to work on everyone because I was so nervous but I loved every minute of it. I started off doing only makeup and I learned as much as I could in order to master bridal hair styling by watching a ton of hair videos and practicing. Eventually, I also received my Cosmetology license from Toni & Guy Hair Academy.
There are so many reasons to how I got here. I am so grateful for all my lovely brides and non-bridal clients who trust in me to make them beautiful. It’s such a great feeling when my brides recognize how much I love what I do! All this and the passion for the beauty/wedding industry just keeps me going along with the endless support from my husband and family.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There will always be some type of challenges along the way and it’s how we learn and grow from it which will make us stronger. Believe in yourself, if you love what you do and willing to put your heart and soul into it nothing will get in the way.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Jenny Luu Hair + Makeup – what should we know?

As every bride is unique, I create custom looks based on their comfort level and personal preference. I love educating my brides on proper skincare as flawless results starts within the skin.
