Today we’d like to introduce you to Cara Bella.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been into art and design of all kinds since I was very little, I was sewing, drawing, painting and creating as far back as I can remember, I would design clothes and make gowns for my dolls using tissues and my Naunna’s hairspray, I’d cut their hair, paint on new makeup, give them entirely new beautiful looks. People used to ask me what I wanted to do when I grew up and my answer was always the same, I wanted to be a designer, an artist, I wanted to be a model, a makeup artist, I wanted to do it all and despite what I was being told I knew I could achieve all these goals and thankfully, that’s exactly what I do now. I’d say everything really started to set forth into motion on the night February 12th, 2014. A friend of mine was throwing a Street Art themed event and asked me to come set up a table and body paint on all the attendees since he knew I was heavily into canvas and street art at the time, little did I know, this night was the beginning of it all for me. I met people at this event who ran events or knew someone who did and little by little, I was traveling working all these amazing shoots and events, and eventually was showcasing on runways & magazines. I met a lot of people who did photography and promotions and from there I started getting into modeling, makeup and body painting professionally. Anytime I had a certain concept for a shoot I always would struggle with wardrobe, I could never find what I was looking for, so I would start whipping little things up for myself and friends and from there is when I decided to just do it myself… that’s when my line was born.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road for me has been and still is far from an easy one, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to quit and close shop because I haven’t seen the sales or recognition that I hope for yet, every time I’ve wanted to give up I always remembered something a friend told me”… if this is your passion you can’t just give up , because its a part of you ..” and she’s right, if you are drawn to something and you have a passion for something don’t ever give up on what it is you’re trying to achieve. If something is burning inside you, go after it, no matter how many times you feel like you’re not good enough or that someone is doing better or you could be doing better, just trust and have faith in yourself, your talents and the divine timing of it all, go after your goals until you achieve what you set out for, you have no idea where your passions may bring you.

I thankfully have found ways to lace together and incorporate everything that I do and I am so excited to see what’s in store next for me.
What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
The best advice I can give anyone is to not give up, to never compare your success to someone else and to always believe in your art and yourself, even on the bad days where you can’t find a single reason to keep going, I want you to pick at least three things you do that is just amazing, barely minimum 3 things you are so proud of. 3 things that set you apart from the rest, say those out loud and remember how amazing you are, remember and know how damn talented and driven you are and remember why you wanted to do your thing in the first place.
