Today we’d like to introduce you to Tom Gillis.
Tom, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been a PGA golf professional for 30 years and have invented a putting training aid to help all golfers improve their putting. I’ve been teaching golf for so long that I’ve come up with this great training aid to help all golfers. I also have a grip trainer that will help most players as well. My experience over the last 30 years has really help me develop these training aids and help all golfers improve faster. My goal is to get people better faster and it seems to work with these great training aids.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well I’m learning to deal with manufacturers and all the ins and outs of running a small business. My main expertise was playing and teaching off and now I’m transforming into an entrepreneur. There are small bumps on the way but I’m learning as I go with the help of my partners and family.
Eyeputt Golf – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in teaching golf to all skill levels which help me develop my training aids.
They were developed out of necessity to help the golfers improve and make my business stronger. I’ve been turn those into a profitable business model.
My passion for golf and helping others sets me apart from others as well. I live at 24 hours a day and I love it!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Being recognized as one of the top teachers in New England and when I sold my first order of training aids. It was good to see my idea finally come full-circle and be a product that people can buy.
