Todd, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.

In 1997 Wellness Massage & Skincare was established to make wellness products and services available to all, becoming the first boutique spa in the area to only use only the finest natural & organic products in all of our treatments to revitalize body, mind, and spirit, naturally!
In the past, most folks would only get a massage or facial treatment while on vacation, as it was considered a luxury by many. Boston Spas catered to the out of town visitors and the local Boston Brahmin. Finding a truly professional therapeutic massage or professional skincare treatments that were potent and effective without the use of chemicals was no easy task.
As a true believer and advocate in the benefits of therapeutic massage for pain relief & stress reduction, and knowing that what we use on our skin is absorbed into our bodies, I realized the need to incorporate them into my own “wellness routine” and hoped others would benefit as well, After all, whether you work hard, or just play hard, you owe it to yourself to feel good. At the very least, you deserve to reap the rewards of your daily grind by restoring and enriching your health and well-being.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In our 20 years of being in the Wellness Business, we have seen tremendous growth in the Spa field and the public is becoming more informed as to the benefits of professional spa therapies. Massage & Skincare chains and small businesses are opening in practically every town. This is a wonderful thing, as more and more people have access and are now benefiting from regular massage & skincare treatments.
As with any business, at times of high demand, competition will flood the market. This can lead to challenging times while spa patrons now are faced with a bevy of choices when it comes to choosing a place to go for their wellbeing. Unfortunately, not all are created equal and choosing solely on price or the discount websites could lead to disappointment. When you buy a product in a store it will be the same product regardless which store you shop at, the same is not true for spa services.
There have been many times when a new potential client has called simply to ask for prices. They are unaware if they are going to have their body worked on by a therapist who just received their diploma or a licensed therapist with 5, 10 or 20 years’ experience. Granted, some new therapists have a great touch, but if you are suffering with chronic pain I would recommend seeing a therapist who is experienced and has the resources and knowledge of your condition. You’ve only got one body, one mind, one spirit, the time is right to benefit from a therapeutic massage and natural skincare.

Wellness Massage & Skincare is a Boston area “boutique spa” located in Newton Centre. We are often referred to as “Newton’s best kept secret”, as we rarely advertise and rely on the referrals of local chiropractors, dermatologists and PT’s, as well as our loyal clientele (many of whom have been with us since be opened our center in 1997). We use only the finest natural & organic products in our treatments to revitalize body, mind, and spirit.
