Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Hoang.
Tina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started this business after I became a single mom. It was a risk that I took. I needed flexibilities with my work hours. I feel that once I’ve become my own boss, I can spend more time with my kids. I’ve been doing nails right after I graduate from high school. Where I am today is all thanks to my parents who are my number 1 supporters. I am also fortunate enough to have Amanda Fortier as my first employee who stuck by my side till now.
Has it been a smooth road?
For the most part, its been a smooth road. There’s always a hard time for starting up. One struggle I face is that it’s hard to find employees who are a team player and have the love of nails.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a full-service nails salon. We also have waxing. We specialize in all types of manicures and pedicures. One thing that we may be known for is service/Nail art. What set us apart from other salon is that we are set up as an intimate/boutique like a salon. We want our clients to come in and feel relaxed. I am proud that we won 2017 reader’s choice on Union leader as the best manicurist. Also on best things in NH we are known as one of the 10 best nail salons in NH. We also have Studio Lavo who sublease from us. They do all the makeup, facials, eyelash extensions, and so much more. We also have spray tanning as well.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Manchester is a great place for my business. This is where I grew up and also raising my kids. I would recommend people to start up in Manchester.
