Meet Thomas Dick of Fiddlehead Farms in Somersworth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Thomas Dick.

Thomas, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2004, the site of the former The Broken Pushcart at 920 Central Avenue in Dover was renovated and a new vision for the 30 year old market was born.

Through their leadership, Fiddleheads established relationships with some of the finest local merchants and offered them the opportunity to sell their delicacies under one roof at Fiddlehead Farms Marketplace. Coupled with their 20 year relationships with the finest produce merchants at the New England Produce terminal in Chelsea they are able to offer local shoppers amazing produce prices every day!

Reminiscent of a European style market, Fiddlehead Farms Marketplace was a success and shoppers from across the Seacoast appreciated the opportunity to shop for all their favorite local food vendors in one convenient trip.

Today, in 2017 Fiddlehead Farms Marketplace remains a family affair dedicated to offering customers all the ingredients they need to prepare a delicious, healthy meal at their new location at 451 High St in Somersworth NH. And have been joined by Three Sisters Cake Shop and Studleys Flower Garden… both leaders in their field.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In our industry, there are constant struggles along the way. Keeping prices down in order to compete with surrounding businesses. Hiring and keeping quality employees is always a small struggle. And our biggest obstacle was in April when we had to move from our home of 13 years to our new location up the road at 451 high St in Somersworth. But we made it!!!
