Meet Taylor Singh of Avasara Events in Lexington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Singh.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Taylor. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Many of my life experiences have led me towards creating this company—starting with the elaborate parties my mother and Aunt Sue would throw, at which I would be called upon to help decorate, prepare meals, serve hors d’oeuvres, and cleanup – all with a smile.

In my teens and early twenties, I worked in food-service as a waitress, bartender and caterer for weddings. In my twenties and early thirties, I worked as an executive assistant in venture capital and private equity, where I coordinated the firms’ annual meetings, portfolio launches, charity events and holiday parties as well as private parties for the partners and founders, including birthday parties and Harvard University reunion functions.

I became known as someone who could stylishly guide my friends and family in planning their weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, and other innumerable events.

When I started Avasara in the fall of 2011, there was one common thread in my career background: I knew how to plan a dynamic event.

Avasara Events now predominately plans same-sex weddings and lavish birthday parties for adults, although we are always interested to hear from customers with other event needs.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been pretty smooth! The clients that approach me have most often been referred through a previous happy customer. Word of mouth has not only made advertising my services a breeze, but folks know what to expect from Avasara Events before we even get started.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Avasara Events story. Tell us more about the business.
We are an Event Planning company that specializes in Same-Sex Weddings and Birthday Parties for Adults.

We are passionate about planning weddings for our same-sex couples and those are the events I am most proud of.

As a company, I am most proud of our honesty, integrity and rapid response times.
It is our utmost priority that we respond to clients’ emails within 24hrs at minimum and that we always communicate with full transparency with our clients as well as our trusted vendors.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Excellent question! Luck has certainly played a role!

I am beyond fortunate to have two strong, healthy, charming and intelligent young daughters.

I have been so lucky to have been approached by the fantastic and awesome past clients at the times when they needed event planning that jived with the births and newborn stages of my girls’ lives. After each of my girls started becoming more independent toddlers – a sparkling new client would approach me right when I was ready to take on a new project. I consider that super lucky and those clients were phenomenal to work with, so lucky in that regard too!
