Meet Talita Calderon of Pro Touch Esthetics in Bedford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Talita Calderon.

Talita, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When I was 14 I got my first facial and since then I told my mom I wanted to become an Esthetician and help others to feel comfortable on their own skin. Two weeks after I finished High School I went to Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics.

When I graduated I started treating friends and family skin at my Esthetics room at my mom’s house. Then my friends and family referred other friends and I stared to get a lot of new clients. For that reason I decided to take the step of RENTING a small room 2 times week at a hair salon in Lowell. Also, I started working at a Medical Spa in Framingham, where I learned to be professional and I gained a lot of experience with Doctor Sharma.

After two years, the salon owner gave me a short notice that she was going to go out of business in two weeks. I desperately had to find another place to take care of my clients, so I found an esthetics room rental at a salon and spa in Chelmsford. I took the risk and I signed the contract for a one year lease with the salon owner and my rent would be double compared  tothe previous place.

My clientele was growing really fast and I was getting lots of body treatment request (which I did not specialize in) so I invited another Esthetician to rent the other room, she was working from home doing body treatments and waxing. We became partners and after months and we hired other two estheticians to help taking care of our clients, we were very busy at that point and we did not want to turn away clients.

After a couple of years we were lacking space, and we decided to take a big step by opening our own Day Spa. I was living the dream, as I always wished. Picking up every detail of our day spa, color paint, logo, floor, decoration, name and etc… We invested lots of money on the build out but after couple more years our partnership did not work, so I end up selling my share to her husband. I walked away with a list of 50 clients and with an agreement of working 10 miles away from the business I sold in Chelmsford. I left a clientele of 700 clients, the location, the company name, equipment and employees and etc…

After many years working as Esthetician I have decided to seek new adventures opening a business on my own. I am sure you can understand that making this decision was difficult. I left with mixed emotions. With a lot of excitement I opened my place Pro Touch Esthetics in Bedford. I remain grateful for all support from my family and friends and especially my wonderful husband Alaques.

This has been the best decision I made, I take pride in each treatment I perform. The connection with my customers that establish trust and personal attention for their needs and requests are fulfilling to me. Consulting with a customer about their skin and making their visit at Rescue an enjoyable, relaxing and pleasant experience.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I would love to become an esthetician instructor as a part time and also I would love to grow my practice even more keep good quality on my services.
