Today we’d like to introduce you to Stewart Brandt.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Stewart. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
H. Brandt Jewelers was begun in 1989 by Stew and Gretchen Brandt. Our name dates back to the original H. Brandt, founded in Germany in 1806. We stock an eclectic inventory of magnificent diamond, colored gemstone, gold, platinum and silver jewelry. We’re proud to offer selections that fit just about every budget. We provide custom design, one off pieces, jewelry repair and restoration, bead and pearl stringing as well as insurance replacement appraisals all on the premises. Watch repair and restoration is done by our Rolex certified technicians.
We offer the fairest prices on your heirloom, broken precious metal, diamond and gemstone jewelry. We have specialists to help with the sale of your premium timepieces and name brand jewelry. Most importantly, Natick is our home. We live in, work in and support our community in every way possible. As members of I. J. O. (Independent Jewelers Association), we have the buying power to match chain store pricing. And, we provide the personal service you can’t get from a website.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We started in business during the recession of 1989. In 1992, we were evicted from our shopping center location to make way for a new “Big Box” shopping center. This resulted in a move to a less than desirable location but, we somehow survived. In 2002, an opportunity to move to Downtown Natick, Stews home town, presented itself and here we came. Over the past 15 years, we have not only survived, but thrived in this community. Even the recession of 2008 couldn’t beat us. We are about to celebrate our 28th year in business and are looking toward many, many more.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about H. Brandt Jewelers – what should we know?
We are a full service retail jewelry store. We offer a wonderful collection of new and vintage jewelry in platinum, gold and silver. Vibrant diamonds and colored gemstones. We offer Computer Aided Design and jewelry creation services. We have an in house jewelry repair department and all watch repairs are completed by our Official Rolex repair service center. We travel regularly to Antwerp, Belgium and Tel Aviv, Israel to source the finest diamonds. Our colored stone suppliers travel the world to bring you only the best.
We offer insurance and estate valuations and replacement services. We’re very strong buyers for your old and/or unwanted jewelry, diamonds and luxury wrist watches.
When you walk into H. Brandt Jewelers, you are being served by an owner and staff that only wants what’s best for you.
Outside the store, we are active participants both with time and resources in several social and civic organizations in our town. Stew is currently serving or has served in leadership roles of several of these organizations.
