Meet Sheri Bradshaw (aka Archidiacono) of the Closet Experiment in North End

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheri Bradshaw (aka Archidiacono).

Sheri, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
From as far back as I can remember, I always loved fashion (especially trends). I would read all of my mom’s fashion magazine, cut out pictures of looks (sorry mom!) I wanted to recreate- filling notebook after notebook with clippings…pre-pinstrest. (And I still do this today!) Although my love for all things fashion ran deep, I also found fashion to be intimidating. Where does one even start when fashion and trends change so quickly? And what about age? And body type? These are all things that we factor into our wardrobe building. After many years of experimenting with different styles, I’m finally  at the point where I understand my personal style (most of the time- I mean come on, no one is perfect). I know that I love embellished things, leather anything, distressed jeans, heels for days, studs, spikes, feathers- the edgier the better! But I also have to mesh this edgy cool girl style with real life and working as an in-house lawyer; which isn’t always easy! Regardless of the level of drama or edge I work into my wardrobe, I seem to purchase the same 10-12 items over and over again. I am a firm believer that that there is a formula for dressing well. And all of the items in the formula are not only super versatile–but are things that every woman can wear-regardless of age, size, or style–to create what I believe to be the key for creating a closet full of tens. If you streamline your closet down to these key items, to where everything in your closet is a 10, you will always look like a 10. It doesn’t matter if your style is edgy, preppy, classic, and minimalist or however else you may categorize your style as. That’s why I decided to call my blog, the closet experiment. Because after experimenting with my closet for years, I want to teach other women what I believe to be the formula to good dressing. How to streamline their wardrobe so it works for them. How to build confidence by having a closet filled with tens-so instead of stressing what to wear- we can focus on the more important parts of life!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I am still in the growing phase of my blog. That in and of itself is a struggle. I am in the process of creating content, finding a rhythm, and a balance between when to shoot photos, what to shoot, and how often to post. Finding the time to put in the work is also a challenge. I would say that the hardest thing about blogging or insta-blogging, is finding the confidence to put yourself out there. I have always been a person that makes safe moves in life. I have never been a big risk taker and only really like to do things when I know they will have a successful outcome. AND I HATE taking pictures. But I also always wanted to start a blog to show people that getting dressed doesn’t need to be stressful. I felt a have a bigger message that could really help others who have had the same wardrobe struggles I have experienced. And, that you can  build confidence in your life by dressing well and showing off your personality through your wardrobe.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about the Closet Experiment – what should we know?
I started the closet experiment as a blog and insta blog to show women that fashion and getting dressed doesn’t need to be stressful or expensive- but it can be easy, fun and help to build confidence on the inside by looking gorgeous on the outside. I do believe that there is a formula to dressing but it is also all about finding what works for you and committing to a style that says hello world- this is me-like one hundo percent. The closet experiment is going to teach you how to get rid of anything in your closet that isn’t a ten, so you can get in touch with your inner fashion icon without breaking a sweat (or the bank)! And when you are ready to invest in that must have piece, how to invest in pieces that matter and last. I think what sets me apart from others is that I am super honest, I don’t try to make pretend that my life is perfect, or that finding your personal style is easy. It isn’t. I am just here to get my readers on a journey to make it a little easier.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I have found that in my life, not only with my blog, that being true to myself and never giving up on what I want has helped me to succeed. People are attracted to authenticity and honesty. I never want to try to portray myself and something or someone that I am not.
