Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Solomon.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started Classy Media about a decade ago. I graduated with a degree in Marketing and Management and worked for some exciting companies, but as the economy slowed during the mid-2000’s, I found myself taking on more and more responsibilities. Eventually, I was acting as an entire marketing department for a company and handled everything from designing web pages and advertisements to sending out mass mailings and email marketing campaigns. I was always complimented by management on my simple and crisp style, so when I was downsized out of my position, I decided to take my skills and create a business of my own to help a variety of professionals unable to hire their own in-house marketing team.
As my clients grew, along with their needs, I partnered in 2015 with Erica Brown who is a copywriter. Together, we are able to provide a full service creative studio offering imaginative copywriting, chic design, public relations strategies, and media collaborations.
Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a small business certainly has its ups and downs. When I first started, I had to seek out and collaborate with multiple providers such as printers, media connections, and clients! Erica and I spent considerable time building a portfolio which is fun, but time consuming. We consider ourselves fortunate to have a wide network of clients we have worked with.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Classy Media is a small boutique firm that works with other small businesses. We specialize in social media management, website design and development, logo and print design, branding, and creative copywriting.
We are most proud of being able to help smaller businesses. We started with the vision of enabling the classic “mom and pop shops” the ability to present themselves on the same level as larger companies with in-house marketing teams. We strive to work with a variety of professionals, understand their goals, and help them reach their target audience in a cohesive manner with email newsletters, social media outreach, branding overhaul, an interactive website, and creative blogging.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Boston is a wonderful place to start a business like ours. With technology as it is today, we are able to collaborate with one another from coast to coast and work with clients no matter where they are located. Being near a city like Boston is useful as you grow a business because they have tools and resources like the Small Business Association and co-work spaces you can rent.
