Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Montani.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sarah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
An avid photographer since the age of 13, I went on to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Boston University. Following the births of my children in 2004 and 2007, I spent a few years home with them. I founded Sarah Montani Photography in 2010 as a flexible way to balance my photography skill with my busy mom-life. Early on, I wasn’t sure how far it would go, but I was able to launch my leap of faith into a flourishing career! Three years ago, I opened a portrait studio in Franklin, MA. The best part is that I get to photograph new people and places all the time, so I get to always stay creative!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wish I could say that is has always been a smooth road! I think the biggest struggle was learning how to do it all on my own – I’m not just a photographer, I do all my own scheduling, consulting, marketing, book keeping, web design, advertising, finances, etc. It took some time to figure out how to balance it all.

Specializing in weddings and portraits, I founded Sarah Montani Photography in 2010 with the intention of providing clients with photographic options that are personalized and affordable. I offer portrait sessions at a variety of locations throughout Southern New England, as well as in my portrait studio in Franklin, MA. Sessions are always personalized to meet clients’ needs, and always include a download of ALL final images!
I take the most pride in client satisfaction. Whether it is a family session or a wedding, I want my clients to absolutely LOVE their photos, and come back for more! Thanks to my supportive clientele, I have received numerous awards including the “#1 Photographer in Franklin” and “Gold Regional Favorite Photographer” (Wicked Local Reader’s Choice Awards), and “Top 5 Family Photographers Around Boston” (Boston Parents Paper).
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Step number one is relating to clients on a personal level, and never letting it become routine. Each family session is unique, and each wedding is an incredibly special event. It’s up to me to showcase that. I love getting to know my clients and they truly become like family to me.
Additionally, giving back to the community is incredibly important. I frequently make donations to local schools and fundraisers. I also volunteer by providing portraits of dogs up for adoption through PAWS New England rescue.

- Family Portrait Session: $300 and includes a 45 minute sitting, high resolution download of ALL final images, a $15 print credit, and printing rights.
