Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Herlihy.
Sarah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been a physical therapist for 20 years. I started my physical therapy career working at a local hospital. One of the opportunities I was given during my time there, was running a weekly prenatal exercise program. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and it was my initial introduction into Women’s Health Physical Therapy. I transitioned to an outpatient orthopedic practice where I worked for nine years learning more about individual joints throughout the body. I have been working for Raquel for the past six years. I enjoy incorporating what I now know about the pelvic floor with my orthopedic background to help women.
Raquel is a wonderful person and a great mentor. It is a pleasure to work for her.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Raquel Perlis Physical Therapy – what should we know?
We are an outpatient physical therapy office that specializes in Women’s Health. We help women with pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, incontinence, pregnancy and postpartum problems and constipation. We spend 50-60 minutes with each person giving them one on one care.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I listen to what patients tell me. I watch how patients move and do their exercises. I offer suggestions on how to move or do exercises more efficiently and with less pain.
