Meet Ron Bosse of Bosse School of Music in Weymouth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ron Bosse.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ron. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After graduating from Berklee College of Music 1993, I spent a considerable amount of time performing, touring and recording with my jazz quintet Pursuance, and also teaching music. In 2004, upon realizing the need for better options for music education on the south shore of Massachusetts, I founded Bosse School of Music.

Based in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Bosse School of Music has emerged as the premier destination for contemporary music education on the south shore for all ages and levels. We offer private lessons for all instruments & voice, ensembles and summer programs. Our faculty is comprised of a dedicated group of professional musicians who are graduates of some of the world’s top music colleges such as Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory.

In 2007, Bosse School of Music moved in to a considerably larger space in order to cater to its growing student body, and increased offerings. With the construction of the new space, a professional audio recording and video production studio was built, which was subsequently named Bosse Studios.

Since 2007 Bosse Studios has become a major success story, and has worked with clients across a wide range of industries such as entertainment, finance, film, manufacturing and technology. Some of Bosse Studios’ clients include Paramount Pictures, Disney Studios, Jeff Corwin (Discovery Channel, Animal Planet etc…), Samsung, Haley Aldrich and ONUG. In 2015, Bosse Studios was on the audio production team that helped Jeff Corwin win 2 Emmy Awards for his show Ocean Mysteries.

In 2013, in an effort to provide Bosse School of Music students with the technological training to help them become better musicians, we formed Bosse Tech. Bosse Tech is a subsidiary of Bosse School of Music which offers training in the areas of audio recording, video production, photography, and graphic/web design.

In 2015, as a response of Bosse School of Music’s growing ensemble program, we created Bosse LIVE, which is now the south shore’s only structured music performance program for all ages. In 2017, the students and bands enrolled in Bosse LIVE, performed to a sold out crowd at world-class venue Showcase Live at Patriot Place.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Despite all the typical challenges associated with running multiple businesses, the road has been rather smooth. Being a family business, and having a strong dedicated staff has helped the process considerably.

Bosse School of Music – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Bosse School of Music is widely known as the south shore’s leader in contemporary music education for all ages & levels. What sets us apart from others is our integrated approach to music education which consists of private instrumental & vocal instruction, ensembles and classes in music theory and technology.

We are most proud of having enriched the creative culture of the south shore through our various offerings, and having helped students of all ages become better and more creative musicians.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Our success is defined by our ability to help our students realize their full potential as creative musicians.
