Robert, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The founders of Elyxor have worked in the Boston start-up scene and along with our core team of Architects and Software Engineers have worked together for 20+ years. After working for several companies and observing what practices led to successes and failures, we decided in 2010 to apply our collective experiences in building complex software by launching Elyxor. Among the accomplishments of Elyxor’s team are launching and growing the software company Celarix, a pioneer in providing real-time visibility into complicated international supply chains. Our Team was also behind the success of online retailer, ruelala.com.
We wanted a company where we could work together, have some fun, and provide real demonstrable value to our clients. Located on the North Shore of Boston, our team is spread out across the country and Europe, using technology to allow our team to work remotely. That’s part of the charm of working for Elyxor, to be flexible and get the best people where ever they are found.
With offices on North Shore of Boston and now in North Little Rock, Arkansas, Elyxor’s team has an average of 15-plus years of experience focusing on DevOps and test automation, the software development lifecycle (SDLC), strategy, the Internet of Things and application development.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We have been surprisingly fortunate in the growth of our firm. What is true is that larger companies already have systems and processes in place, but when a firm is being constructed, you need to service your clients and install those internal practices into the business. So, while our business growth has been relatively smooth, it has taken a lot of focus and collaboration across the team to ‘build our company’. Every Elyxor associate has contributed to the culture, IP and procedures that have become Elyxor in addition to the work we have done for clients.
This will continue as we grow. We hope this means our Elyxor associates feel they are part of building this firm as much as the founders. Our next area of focus is to scale the business to support our growing client list. Our investment in the second office location allows Elyxor to acquire talent in two locations. In our business as a consulting firm, our people using our IP are truly our biggest assets, despite how cliché that sounds.

We have a great team of associates and every person in our company has joined us through a personal relationship with an associate. Its something that we are very proud of, that we all want to be here having a good time, and doing what we love, working with our clients on strategic initiatives.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Every pass from Steve Grogan to Stanley Morgan. My wife bought me a Steve Grogan retro jersey upon getting my Pats season tickets.
