I started Eyecandy Lash extensions in 2012 in a reclining chair in my living room, with an idea and a desire to help women be the best version of themselves without breaking their budget. Lash extensions made women smile, and our bi-weekly appointments grew into friendships as well as clients. I soon realized I was outgrowing my home salon and had to venture out to find a larger space. My first salon was in the center of town in Marshfield, and quickly grew to over 400 clients. Eyelash extensions had exploded as the premiere beauty service and I had to keep up. A year later I opened my second location in Braintree, MA about 15 minutes outside of Boston. What began as an enjoyable hobby soon grew to a passion and a viable business. Since then EyeCandy has grown to be the South Shore’s premier lash extension studio with two locations and growing. Maintaining the feel of being in your girlfriend’s living room, catching up, Eyecandy relishes in the homey feel, loving relationships we have created, and continued impeccable craftsmanship of our work.
Has it been a smooth road?
Owning your own business is never always smooth sailing. As much as I love working for myself and wouldn’t trade it, there are definitely challenges we face. Working with all women is fun. We have a lot of laughs together as well as tears. It’s difficult not to get close to your employees, as you spend so much time with them and get to know them all on a personal level. I will never apologize for being an emotional boss, but it does make for some difficult moments.
We have just recently renovated our third salon. My husband Mike has been my backbone. He is a foreman in the Roofer’s Union in Boston where he heads into work at 4:30 am every day. His day doesn’t end until 11pm some nights when we are renovating. We are so proud to be able to say that we have personally built every beautiful salon that my clients come into. Our most recent project was a 300 year old barn in Marshfield that we restored and maintained the charm and essence of. The salon is a cozy, comfortable beautiful space and I’m so excited to share it with my customers.

EyeCandy Lash Extensions is well known in MA, esp. around the South Shore as the premiere specialty lash extension salon. Our reputation is impeccable and we never compromise the health of the natural lash. While many other local salons are looking for the quick hit and offer the cheapest prices, they are causing a lot of damage and infections to the eyes. Our staff is highly trained and they go through an additional training with me in order to ensure they offer the finest quality extensions around. In fact, we fix many botched jobs where clients come from other places in need of help. We are known for our big dramatic sets of Volume lashes! Although we do offer classic minks, which is an individual extension that sits on top of one of your natural lashes, as well as a combination of both, we also love to apply a big bad set of dramatic lashes! Volume lashes are custom made fans that we create as we go along. We place 3-10 very fine lashes together to create a much more voluminous look. It gives you many more lashes than you naturally have. We have cornered the market on volume sets for sure as you will see from all of our incredible before and after photos on our Facebook & Instagram pages, as well as our website. I am most proud of the fact that we will never take someone’s money if we can’t give them what they want. If you come in and want a natural look, we should easily be able to provide you with that. If drama is what you want, that too can be achieved. Provided your natural lashes are healthy, the technicians at EyeCandy can do it all.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel that the South Shore is an incredible place for lash extension salons. Braintree & Marshfield have both been very good to us. Our clientele ranges from younger high school girls to more mature women in their 50’s, 60’s and 70’s who want to take that tired look away and make their eyes sparkle again. Those clients exist in every city. If someone was just starting out, I would tell them that the South Shore is a great area.
