Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Mozell.
Paul is a Boston area photographer who wears many hats. With over 25 years of experience as a pro, and a lifetime of immersion in the art and craft of photography, he accepts a wide variety of projects and assignments.
Nature & Landscapes
Paul’s vision is deeply rooted in a lifetime of hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing and skiing in the American wilderness. With backpacking gear and a pack full of cameras and lenses he has recorded the landscapes of New Hampshire’s White Mountains, New York’s Adirondacks, the Wind River Range of Wyoming, the Rockies of Colorado and Montana, the red-rock territories of Utah and Arizona, and John Muir’s Sierras. His work is available as licensed stock photography, and fine art archival prints. He welcomes assignments. His images have found homes in editorial illustration, advertising, books, and decor for offices and institutions.
Portraiture
Calling on his experience as a news, street, and stock photographer, Paul makes portraits for executives and families on location; in the home or work environment. He’ll meet families at a favorite local park, in front of the fireplace, or in the back yard. Executives pose on the factory floor, the office, or in front of a portable backdrop.
Editorial and Corporate Work
Contact Paul to discuss your requirements for Public Relations, Annual Report, Editorial, and Event Photography. His clients have included banks, agencies, corporate marketing communications departments, non-profits, architectural firms.
Architecture & Interiors
Using traditional large format film cameras and lenses or contemporary digital equipment and lighting, Paul photographs offices, homes, public buildings and interiors for designers and real estate firms. Lately, he’s been doing aerial photographer for engineering firms.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The tough part of this business is the sales and marketing component. A day does not pass when I am not tending to social media posts and calls to potential clients.
Paul Mozell Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I have always been a photographer. My father, Al Mozell, was a cinematographer, still photographer, and painter. I’m fairly certain that he gave me my first Kodak Brownie at about the age of 5.
I’ve been acknowledged for the amount of creative territory I cover, from executive portraits to white-water rafting, to event coverage, architecture and landscapes.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
There have been many magical moments. Whether on assignment for a client, or shooting a personal project, I know that more often than not I can “get in the zone.” This is a state of intensified creativity out of which I have produced some of my best work.
