Meet Nichole Wood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nichole Wood.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nichole. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Growing up I never pictured I would be where I am today. I was never an athlete or really in tune with my body- I more or less stuck to books. I always had a fascination with the human body and what it was capable of. That is what led me into the field of Physical Therapy. All throughout college that was my plan. That all changed my senior year. I had my first internship and realized I actually didn’t love the field as much as I thought.

After a couple of months of unemployment after college I stumbled upon a part time job at a locally owned gym in my home town. During my time at this gym I slowly realized how much exercise and focusing on a healthier lifestyle helped me in all other areas of my life. I am naturally a people person and also loved being paid to talk about what I loved.

I spent the next 3 and a half years learning everything and anything I could about how to work out more efficiently, through injuries, and how to motivate other people. I absolutely fell in love with helping other people achieve their highest potential and working through their own limitations. This career absolutely changed my life and I believe it is my personal mission to help as many people as I can.

This year I decided to move away from the corporate gym setting and start my own Journey. I am currently training out of a privately owned studio in Newton and taking my services worldwide by offering online health coaching. This has been such a rewarding experience so far and I am so excited to see where my journey takes me next!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like everyone there were absolutely bumps in the road during my journey. As I mentioned, during the last semester of my senior year I realized I no longer wanted to continue on the career path that I studied the last four years for. This realization happened at the same time that I unexpectedly lost my mother to cancer.

This was a huge time of uncertainty for me and was honestly one of the lowest points in my life that I can remember. I fully believe that everything happens for a reason and I now know that stumbling into my hometown gym as a fresh college grad opened me up to a world I never thought I was good enough to belong in. It changed my entire future and I could not be more grateful for that opportunity.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Nichole Wood – what should we know?
My business has evolved a lot over the years. I have found a passion helping people relieve their daily aches & pains from long days at a desk, on a computer, or just living day to day life. I fully believe no one should EVER have to live with pain and there is always a solution.

This year I have been able to expand my business by adding online training to my services offered. This is such an amazing tool for people who travel a lot, have a hectic schedule, or are not able to afford in person training. You still get the coaching and accountability portion with weekly video or phone calls AND can get to the gym on your own time. It has been such a rewarding experience so far!

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
If I had to start over I probably would have paid more attention in college and made more of an effort to work out regularly. I luckily still figured out my career path by age 22 but I feel that I would be much farther along by now if I got started even 3 years earlier.
