Thanks for sharing your story with us Nichole. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After twelve years of working for one of the top salons in New Hampshire, I felt I was ready for more of a challenge with my career. One of the biggest drivers in my decision to become an entrepreneur, was my committed client base and a desire to create an environment where they would feel completely relaxed and entrusting of me to style them to their hair preferences. I wanted to change my physical setting and build a perfect utopia for my clients to visit me at. My strategy was to provide them a space with dual purpose; first, a salon that is their beauty mecca for all hair and professional make-up needs and secondly, a space where they could spend a few hours and not be too far from demands of their busy careers. I offer complimentary Wi-Fi and plenty of comfortable working space in the high-tech café to multi-task during their busy lives. My belief was that, if I could create this euphoria, that I would always have their business.
For over a decade, these clients have held ongoing appointments with me; using my chair as a relaxing escape, a great conversational retreat and always leaving feeling revived and fresh. My philosophy with clients has always been my commitment to consistently exceeding their hair expectations. Part of making sure I’m on point with their expectations is always being on top of the latest trends in hair styles and color preferences. I have continued to participate in new color and cutting techniques and attend industry shows each year, so that my approach and education is on par with stylistic trends seen in the media. The best part about my career now, is that I can continue to cater to my clientele from the comforts of my beautiful salon space, which I designed and decorated completely on my own.
Has it been a smooth road?
As I reflect back, I would say the entire process went pretty smoothly. The biggest challenge in the beginning was finding the ideal location, I took over a year to settle on the right space and location that suited my preferences and also fit well, geographically, with my clientele.
It took a while to get fully staffed, I would say that was probably my second biggest challenge. I interviewed over twenty stylists and patiently waited until I found the most unique and artistic professionals that matched well with the space I have created.

My business is an upscale hair salon, located in Londonderry, New Hampshire.

Show Salons specializes in an array of color and cutting techniques, including: balayage, ombre, shadow root, glaze, highlight/lowlight, full color and on-trend hair cutting styles.
As a company, we are most proud of the immense success that we have had in just our first year. The response from the client base, both existing and new, has been tremendous! Both from a commitment standpoint, with return visits and increases in services purchased, as well as esthetically with positive feedback about the relaxing energy the salon space offers to them.

Boston has a lot to offer for restaurants and nightlife and that brings a great mix of clients to us.
