Today we’d like to introduce you to Natassja Reyes.
Natassja, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always been the creative one in my family besides my fabulous mother for whom I take after. I’ve always had ideas and had the necessity of seeing the idea come to life, whether it was designing an accessory or a garment. I studied Fashion Design and Merchandising in New York City but due to unfortunate events, I never got to finish. That never stopped me though, my passion never died. I started making earrings and selling them out of the trunk of my car, my job, word of mouth and the local flea market.
Today I am the creator and founder of Blac & Blanco. an online store with unique accessories for both men and woman. I founded this company one year ago with the vision that it will transition into a household name with items such as apparel, shoes, and home decor. I’ve always believed that if you put God first combine your dreams with hard work and determination the possibilities are endless.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not always been the smoothest road, but like my father always says anything worth doing is not going to be easy. Having your own business takes time, dedication and investments amongst a whole lot of other things. The first couple of years you hardly see any profit or catch any sleep lol, But personally for me it’s not all about the profit I genuinely love designing and I become completely overjoyed when I see someone wearing one of my pieces. I’m like thank you for believing in my work! that really means the world to me!

We are Blac & Blanco where class meets edge. We are bold, Exclusive and Handmade accessories. We specialize in adding that finishing touch that makes any outfit come to life with our accessories. Right now we are known for our different variety of chokers and necklaces that cannot be found in any stores. What sets Blac & Blanco apart from any other accessory line is that we are Exclusive. We only design a few of each piece to keep that one of a kind vibe which all ladies and gents love!
What were you like growing up?
I was always the happy go, lucky girl! Always energetic and playful. I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. I was one out of five children. One out of 4 girls. it was a busy house a lot of laughs and love! But I was the dreamer out of the bunch! Forever a dreamer, till this day although my feet are both on the ground you can still find my head in the clouds!
