Meet Nancy Shone of Pingster Corporation in Canton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nancy Shone.

Nancy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
“Every Spot in the World has a Story”. This is the sentence that has created what we know today as Pingster.

In July 2017, I came up with the idea for an app. So, to decide whether it was a viable idea, I started asking people opinions about the idea. First, I went to my millennium age 24-year-old daughter, who is an avid Instagram and Snapchat user and ask her; if you had an app that would show you an Image and allow you to GPS navigate to that Image. Would you use it? She said yes and that she would use it when she was hiking. Then I proceeded to a family friend a woman who does not use Instagram and Snapchat and is not an app user but is a baby boomer. I asked her if she had an app that she could use on vacation, while traveling in unknown territory. This app would show you images of all the nearby activities shared by other users, would you download this app and check it out. And she said YES, she would be curious enough to check out what others were doing. It was at that Aha moment that I knew Pingster was a special idea and it needed to build. So now here we are 11 months later we have now launched our first IOS platform on the Apple Store.

Pingster is a revolutionary mobile web app that socially connects people using cell phones and GPS. Pingster is like a Google Maps for images and can be described as a combination of both Photosharing app like Instagram and GPS navigation app like Waze.

Wow that image looks amazing! I want to go there. Whether you are in your neighborhood at home or looking up activities on vacation, Pingster connects you to the photos you love AND the locations of those photos. In the days of heightened privacy awareness, Pingster does not record nor share your personal location but rather only connects your cell phone to photos that were taken nearby. Pingster® stores an image with its location in the Pingster cloud® and never a user’s location. After you take the picture and walk away you are no longer associated with that location.

Our technology is different than the other leading social media photosharing moguls. Our app does not use proprietary algorithms to deliver a user’s visual experience but rather you see imagery based on the GPS location of your cellphone.

Today it is very hard to become an influencer in social media. To make real impact you need to have lots of followers. Pingster is designed so that everyone is connected, illuminating the popularity contest. With Pingster there are no algorithms, and everyone is equal. It’s all about being at the right location at the right time and snapping that image that creates impact.

Pingster technology connect users phone to image around them, whether it is business, fun, scenery. In downtowns throughout this country, whether you are in New York City or in Kansas City you see a troubling site, stores out of business. The convenience of online shopping has adversely affected the brick and mortar business. Pingster promises to be a new tool to highlight locations resulting in spot lighting those brick and mortar businesses to our users.

Several reasons people will like our app over the competition
1) Regular users: People feel connected to the imagery around them especially if they are physically close by. See click then navigate to the visual experience.
2) Regular users: People like discounts. With Pingster they will physically get connected thru GPS discounts and sales from businesses that are nearby them.

Business to Consumer solution solved.

Brick and mortar stores are hurting. Pingster can bring targeted consumers to their doors thru GPS, with targeted promotions on sales that are close by. Yes, our monetized customer base, Businesses, pays for conversions based on POS (point of sale) and not just a (Click That Leads To No Where) like Google AdWords.

When users realize that their time spent on Pingster has real impact they will flock to our app. There is close to 2 billion photos uploaded to social media and photo sharing sites daily, and we can dip into that market share. If you build it, they will not come unless you have the money to create traction and make Pingster a viral phenomenon.

Jump on the Pingster band wagon, try it out download it today.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We have been bootstrapping and we really want to kick up the speed for growth and we need investment for that. This has been challenge and a big learning curve for our engineering/technology based company.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing, it has been an amazing ride. I am so proud of myself and my team.

Creating this wonderful tool, from a simple sentence. Now we need to get it real and get it into the main stream.
