Melanie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The beauty industry was never really a question for me. I honestly don’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t know that this would be my career. What started out as a passion for the beauty industry and the desire to own my own business, I opened Serenity’s doors in 2001. What began as a small salon and spa with only a handful of employees has since grown into a bustling business with a team of nearly fifty and a need for more space. In June of this year, Serenity’s expansion was completed, going from a modest 2,000 square feet to a spacious 7,500 square foot full service salon and spa.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
A smooth road? Absolutely not. More like a mountainous terrain. Although it has all been worth it, there was definitely a fear of failure. Change is hard; however, without change, you can’t move forward.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Serenity Spa & Salon – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Serenity is a full service spa and salon. We have a wonderful team of dedicated employees who are masters of their craft.
We pride ourselves on being up-to-date with the latest trends and the newest technology.
From balayage and designer cuts to luxurious massages and facials, we strive to provide the best possible services to our clients.
In addition to hair, massage, and skin services, we also offer an extensive list of nail services, spray tans, wedding services, and even yoga!
I think that what sets us apart from others is our consultations and communication with clients; we really want to educate them on what they need and what treatments and products are going to give them their desired results.
We also pride ourselves on our customer service; our Spa Coordinators go above and beyond to coordinate schedules, accommodate clients, and to make each and every guest’s experience a positive and memorable one.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Serenity’s recent expansion has been quite the big change! There’s nothing more powerful than making people look and feel beautiful – and we want to share that with the world.
