Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Lucchetti.
Matthew, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I began as an installer for Tweeter (out of the Commonwealth Ave store). There, I learned the trade and was trained by the best. As that company closed, I began FHHT in 2006. Originally, we had a storefront right on Federal Hill in Providence RI. But with our growth, we’ve needed to expand our parking options. Thus, we moved to Warwick RI – right off 95 next to CCRI.
Over the past 11+ years, I have grown the company to include 2 install vehicles, an office / showroom in Warwick RI, and a handful of employees. FHHT is a family-owned & run business. Rachel is my wife, Vice President, and office manager. Chris has been a life-long friend and is my top installer. I am still out in the field for consultations and installs. The whole company partakes in frequent trainings to keep up-to-date on the changing technology. At FHHT, we pride ourselves in being at the forefront of our field and truly knowing the products we sell & install.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like any small business, you experience some bumps. Frequently, it has to do with the economy! We are a luxury – so often in times of economic stress, we’ve seen a dip in productivity. But FHHT perseveres & we are going into our 12th season! Through the lean times and the plentiful, FHHT has always worked with client’s budgets to get them the best system for the money.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Federal Hill Home Theaters Inc – what should we know?
FHHT provides sales, service, and installation. We can be your one-stop-shop for that new system or we can just do the installation of products you provide. We will even come by for a service call to diagnose & hopefully fix your current set-up. As a family-owned small business, we work with our customers to provide the best on their budget. Sometimes a simple TV hang with wires hidden to get that flat screen away from a toddler’s grasp is all that is needed. Other times, a designated home theater room with theater seating, a full projector and screen, along with Dolby Atmos surround sound gives your family a retreat within the comforts of home. Have your own oasis outside? FHHT can also help with outdoor sound that is hidden among the landscaping and an outdoor TV to catch the Red Sox while you grill up dinner.
Here at FHHT, we strive to get the best bang-for-your-buck. We work with a customer’s budget to get them their vision. We suggest the best quality products for your home or business – always keeping in mind the best user-friendly applications. With everything going Wi-Fi & wireless, one of the best systems we install is Heos. From whole home audio, to a designated TV set up, to a portable humidity-proof speaker – all the audio can be controlled from your phone through an app. You can group speakers together to play the same thing or have individual rooms set up and playing different inputs.

Support from family and friends is big. It’s tough to run a small business without help. Rachel, my wife, is the VP & Office Manager. She keeps the paperwork straight for me while I’m on the road. My top installer, Chris, has been a life-long friend and co-pilot on jobs. Both Grandmas watch my daughter during the week or help out at the office as needed. And of course, the support of friends & their word of mouth has helped to grow our business in New England.
