Thanks for sharing your story with us Matteo. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
“We are Francesca and Matteo Ronzio from Italy, we fell in love with Boston after a trip to New England a few years ago. Here at Real Italian Gusto we love to expose patrons to authentic Italian food and dining customs. It will be just like coming to Italy if you enter our restaurant, which is exactly our goal.
Real Italian Gusto is a great place to enjoy traditional Italian dishes that feature both local ingredients and Italian import but it is also a place to find imported Italian goods, such as olive oils, sauces, pasta.
We have imported a fifth generation pizza chef from Naples, Ciro Langella, and an oven from Florence to add to the authenticity”
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was a though road! We are from Italy and we had to get a VISA to start the business here. At the beginning we tried to open in Boston, but we faced a lot of issues (liquor license, build-out and also permits in Boston, so we decided to leave Boston and search another place…We found this wonderful spot in Medford, and we met many nice person here that supported us and helped us in starting our business!

Although there are good and very popular American/Italian dishes in the United States, we want to be sticked to our traditions and taste… for example we don’t serve pasta as a side, or any typical mix you can find in American/Italian restaurant…We hope you’ll appreciate it!
Our motto is: Taste different, taste real Italian!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are planning to build a BAR at the entrance and we are also planning to have live music twice a month. We will be ready in the next weeks to start the Brunch!
