Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Nocera.
Mark, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a dancer, I am a former United States Professional 10-Dance Vice Champion, North American Champion, and World 10-Dance Semifinalist. I purchased the Eastern United States Dancesport Championships 11 years ago, and this year, I partnered with the current World Champions. I am very excited about this new chapter in the legacy of an event that has been a staple of the ballroom world in this country for almost 50 years. In addition to competition organizing, I also owned a studio for 33 years and currently travel domestically and internationally judging and teaching.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As in any business, no new endeavor is a smooth road. I learned a great deal over the years in my enterprises, and I am glad that over time, I have been able to smooth out many of the bumps!
Please tell us about Eastern United States Dancesport Championships.
The Eastern United States Dancesport Championships is the most prestigious regional championship event in the country. What sets the event apart is that even though the competition offers a very prestigious title and brings in world-class dancers and judges from around the world, we still make a point of prioritizing a fun and energetic atmosphere so that our clients really enjoy themselves and have a blast at our event.
